It is FOOTBALL season - and OH! What a WEEKEND for it!!

I'll try to be better at posting -- but here's two things I've got to say for right now:

GO BIG C!!!

and

GIG'EM Aggies!!!

My Shiner Comanches finished District Play this past Friday and clenched the Title 1-A District Championship as they defeated Yorktown in a 42-0 game!

My favorite Comanche (also my favorite [and only] brother)!

And for another celebratory weekend win: Texas A&M (15) defeats Alabama (1) in a 29-24 upset! Ho-Ly-Cow! What a great day for the Aggies!

Summer Fun 2012

Goodness me it's been awhile since I posted last. :( I've been trying to be good about posting once a week, but have been slacking off lately. Thank goodness I have pictures to remind me of what I've been up to the last 5 weeks so I can blog about it soon!

Since the last time I blogged I/we:

  • started our pool
  • bought a ton of plants for it
  • went to Fiesta Texas with my BFF and her/our kiddos!
  • threw a joint birthday party for the boys
  • threw a kids birthday party for Matt
  • went to see the Lion King (LOVE LOVE LOVE)
  • took my cousin Meagan for hibachi - first time for her and first time for chopsticks!
  • many many fun times with my family
  • went to Galveston & took a quick evening stroll around Pleasure Pier
  • laughed so hard with my Mom that I couldn't breathe!
  • became a Godmother to my nephew Max
  • school clothes shopped
  • bought more plants!
  • moved into our new office building
  • returned to Church (thank you God for your patience with me!)
  • been to more doctors visits than I care to mention
  • went back to WW after 6 weeks "off"
  • and I'm sure I've missed a few more things
And yep! I've got pictures for all of these fun things! I can't wait to share. I promise - it will be soon! I'm back on the wagon!

Happy blogging ya'll!

4th of July Weekend = Half Moon Holiday's for us Shinerites!

So this is what we did on 4th of July weekend! I LOVE Shiner - it's my HOME! Always has been, always will be! The first full weekend in July is the Shiner Half Moon Holiday's festival. They moved it into town this year (from the big park just off the main highway) and my preference is the old way, but I guess it's up to the Chamber to decide.

Enjoy the pictures!

Me and my bestie! Diva's! LOL
Miss Sophie sweatin' it out! (trust me, she wouldn't have it any other way!)
 Part of our group
 Meggers!
Here comes the Color Guard. Always gives me chills......
And the very LOUD fire trucks!
Shiner Royalty (I used to be up there - a 1,000 moons ago!)
Shiner High School Marching Band - Go Band!!!
A parade isn't a parade without the Polka Lovers Klub of America!
American Legion members from the Schulenburg post
No small-town parade is complete without a tractor contingent!
Granny's and Grandpa's and babies, oh my!
Best Float EVER! I love HEB!!!!
 Nice ride
 Yoakum Royalty
 Bubba! Leading the trailriders.
Had a couple of wagons in the trailride as well
Matt snagged the watermelon!!! It was so funny watching him sprint out there to grab it!
 Relaxing after the parade.
Hope you had a great 4th!
Happy blogging, y'all!

July 4th, 2012

This is what we did on our Wednesday off of work to celebrate our great country's independence. It was a GREAT day!

We took a little ride on this little doozie - the Andromeda! (yours truly perched on the deck trying to not get sick! *sigh*)
And on our way out of the bay we passed by these lil' ole cottages. (WOW! they are something else and one after another -- what a life!)
And we cruised on through Kemah. That's The Beast there -- fun speed boat guaranteed to thrill ya a little and chill ya a little more! We watched it a few times when we were in the bay.
And that's my man doing a little fishing. (thank goodness we had the Star Wars rod! whew!)
Our gracious hosts and lil baby girl Snickers! awww
Hold the picture taking!!!! FISH ON!!!!! whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???
Some sort of catfish with more than usual pinchers that supposedly hurt. I ain't jumpin in there, ya'll!
And of course Matt was not going to be out-done by his daddy-o. When we got back to the dock he caught a mullet with a net! LOL Fisherman for life!
 Silly boys!
And this little one stayed on my lap pretty much the entire ride. She was feeling about as good as I was. Darn diesel fumes get me every time. But....I was a trooper and kept praying I wouldn't feel icky. I still had a great time!
Thanks Blaine & Lindy for an AWESOME time! It really was! Thanks for sharing your boat with us for the day!

Happy blogging, y'all!

Happy 4th of July!

Here's to wishing everyone a very happy fourth of july! I do not plan to be in front of any computer, blackberry, or iphone tomorrow, so I wanted to wish you all the best a day early.

Enjoy it by being thankful, spending time with friends and family and just enjoying the day! I know I am extremely thankful for the wonderful luxuries of living in the greatest nation on Earth has and for every man and woman - past, present & future - that takes on the journey of keeping America's freedom alive!

God Bless the USA!!!

It's MONDAY and I'm EXHAUSTED!

Yes, I have to admit, I was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overambitious this weekend with what I wanted to get done with paint. OVER-AM-BITIOUS! It was a great weekend all in all. FINALLY one spent at our house for the most part, and sprinkled with family! BEST part of the weekend!

So Friday night was a surprise birthday party night out after a VERY STRESSFUL day of dealing with FedEx. I'm sorry - but man they are a PAIN in the u-know-what to deal with sometimes. :(

Saturday was as planned for most of the day. I meant to have pictures of the before, and why didn't I take some, I don't know. I remembered to capture the moments when I already had everything OFF the shelves. *sigh*

but here's a start to our my Laundry Room re-do:
AFTER I have nearly everything out. Looks better already! HA!
And here's all the "stuff" from the Laundry Room
After it's painted (which these darn pics don't do it justice - MUCH brighter in here now!!!) with the NEW shelf the hubster made for me!
Saturday evening the hubster and I zoomed to my sister's to take care of this little guy. All of 10 days old! Love! (I was soooo exhausted after painting that tiny room -- if you cant' tell!)
Uncle Bert, Hud and our little girl - Sophinator! <3
And on Sunday I got to play with this little rugrat! Love him! He's a hoot and a toot, sometimes! :)
Happy Monday ya'll. It's quittin' time!

It's FRIDAY and I'm EXCITED!

Yay for the weekend! Yay for Friday! And yay for having time to get started on the many paint projects I've got going on this weekend.

Not to mention it's a ploy to get the hubster to work on cleaning the garage and re-doing our church pews which are exactly 19 months behind schedule! @*#$)#@*@#)*$@

So a few of the paint projects this weekend primarily focus on and in the Laundry Room. It's a room that I've been wanting to update, as tiny as it is, with some bolder colors (bolder than anywhere else in our home). I'm SO EXCITED! I've got the paint, I've got the brushes, I've got the wood, and I've got the drive to get this started this weekend, even if it's only the base coat. It's a start!

And I'm also going to work on sprucing up some iron baskets that I grabbed years ago on a trip to Laredo with family. See previous blog about that here: Mexico was Perfecto!

It's the two standing ones and the one basket on the floor that will be repainted and repurposed. (but I have yet to figure out a crafty way to use these baskets....hmmmm any ideas (besides planters)?) They will be matched similarily to the current bold colors on our patio. (the Foot Stool )

And I have such a cute idea in my head  for this decal I just hope and wish and hope that it turns out on the wall as good as it does in my head! Hopefully it ships and arrives QUICK!
I just love reading that saying -- it makes me laugh every time!

Happy Friday y'all!

Well, I think we are done adding bambino's to the Chumchal family for a few months. Hudson Charles made his arrival (after a long day for us - can you imagine how long it was for my sister!?!?!) on Wednesday June 20th.

And here's Mr. Max meeting his cuz for the first time!

 VERY PROUD Auntie and cousin

I love to read!

Yes. I mean it. I LOVE to read. It's probably my favorite pasttime and I don't do nearly enough of it. The hubster doesn't understand it. He's sooooo NOT the reader. He'd rather be designing or fishing or something outside. But hey! I read outside - so get the best of both worlds.

Reading lets me focus on anything but the 'now'. It's so refreshing! And once I get even a teeny tiny bit hooked, that's it - I'll read AS OFTEN and AS LATE and ANYPLACE I can! But don't ask me to read a book again. And don't ask me what it's about after I'm done. I get in some alter state of mind I guess and once it's done, so am I. But I still remember which ones I love and could probably give a "cliff's notes" if I had to! :)

I've been a reader all my life. Even when I was young, I read - every Little Golden Book I could get my hands on (or someone would read to me), Nancy Drew and whoever wrote that Sweet Valley High series?! I love Nora Roberts. I've read a few Nicholas Sparks. I've read Harry Potter. Loved the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. And I'm on the last book of The Hunger Games trilogy. I just finished book 2 - Catching Fire, last night. LOVED IT!

I'm pacing myself before starting the third and final book - Mockingjay. COME ON WEEKEND and POOL TIME!

It took me just a short while to get into book 1 - The Hunger Games. And yes - the Hubster did take me to see the movie on opening weekend. It was gooooooooooooooooooooooood!

And is this not the most beautiful girl? I'm terrible with actors/actresses names, but she is just beautiful and fits the bill of what I expected Katniss to look like, from the depiction in the book. WELL DONE movie folks!

I truly did breeze through Catching Fire. It was a page-turner!!

I can't wait to start Mockingjay!!
 Happy reading y'all!
